NSA, Cabinet Secretary briefed Cabinet on Jaipur blasts: FM

New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) There is no ''breakthrough'' in the investigations into Tuesday's serial bomb blasts in Jaipur, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said today.

''I don't think the investigations have reached the stage where we can claim a breakthrough,'' the Minister told reporters after the weekly Cabinet briefing.

Replying to queries, he said the Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, was briefed on the blasts by National Security Advisor M K Narayanan and Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrasekhar.

They briefed the Cabinet also on the progress in the investigations, he said.

Asked whether Rajasthan was going the Gujarat way, he said maintenance of law and order was the shared responsibility of the state and the Centre.

The state was equally responsible for gathering intelligence and taking preventive measures to check such violence.
