Municipal Committee Chairman nabbed for accepting bribe
Jaipur, May 15 (UNI) A municipal committee chairman of Chirawa (Jhunjhunu), was nabbed today by the sleuths of the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau, along with his driver, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.
Bureau Director General K S Bains said that Municipal Committee Chairman Surendra Gadia had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from complainant Mukesh Chandelia for releasing the order of allotment of contract for cleaning of a drain.
Mr Gadia and his driver Suresh Kumar were caught red-handed while they were receiving the second and final payment of the graft.
A sum of Rs 40,000 had been recovered from the driver's pocket, Mr Bains added.
