Militants killed in suspected US missile strike
Peshawar, May 15: At least a dozen militants have been killed in a suspected United States missile strike in the Damadola area of the Bajaur tribal Agency. According to a senior security official, two missiles, apparently fired by a US drone aircraft, destroyed a house and a compound used by suspected al Qaeda militants
Residents said Taliban militants immediately cordoned off the site after the attack. Taliban spokesman Maulvi Omar told the Daily Times that Taliban commander Maulvi Obaidullah's house was targeted. He said the Taliban believed that the US Army had initiated the attack to undermine peace efforts, adding, "We will avenge this, but will continue talks with the government."
