Clashes between prisoners, one killed

Nashik, May 15 (UNI) A prisoner has been killed in a fight between two prisoners in Nashik Central Jail here.

According to sources, two prisoners, Laxman Ghode (55) and Nitin Nikam (30) were serving life imprisonment in a murder case in Nashik Central Jail. Nikam was of the opinion that he had to serve the punishment because of Ghode.

On April 26, Nikam hit a bucket on Ghode's head due to which Ghode was seriously injured. He was admitted to Nashik District Civil Hospital earlier and to J J Hospital in Mumbai later where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

A case had been registered under sections 304, 307 of IPC in the matter earlier with Nashik Road police. The section was changed to 302 of the IPC after the death of Ghode.
