Bhatti to harness Himachal's talent

Mandi, May 15 (UNI) Noted comedian Jaspal Bhatti today said he had come here with a mission of harnessing the talent of Himachal Pradesh for TV, films and animation.

Addressing mediapersons here, he said so far the snowy and verdant valleys of Himachal Pradesh had been utilized for the shooting of films only, while the local talent has not been harnessed.

"No attempt has been made to harness the untapped talent of the young boys and girls who are not only bestowed with sharp and attractive features, but are also blessed with innovative talent," Mr Bhatti said.

"I have come here to identify and train the blooming skills of the youths for films and animation at a full-fledged Mad Arts Jaspal Bhatti Film School at Mohali.'' Qualified staff of film faculty from Mumbai would visit the school from time to time for upgrading the knowledge of the students, he said.

Giving details of the various programmes available in the school he said at the moment the school was imparting three-month professional courses in acting, direction, editing, camera and lighting, film and TV production, radio jockeying and one-year course in animation.
