2 terror suspects held in K'taka
Belgaum, Karnataka, May 15 (UNI) Police today arrested a 32-year-old NRI and took into custody another person for questioning for terror related activities in the city.
A top police official said Liyakat Ali, who runs a security agency in London, was arrested for possessing objectionable CDs, books.
They seized a laptop, a video camera, four mobile phones and printed material from him. He was produced before a magistrate who remanded him to three days judicial custody.
Another person identified as Imtiaz, also belonging to the city, was taken into custody for questioning for involvement in suspected terrorist activities, the official said.
Ali, who ran a security agency in London, had come to the city in March and stayed here since then. He had came to the city after he reportedly came 'under pressure' from London Police who had suspected his alleged terrorist links.
He had a British wife and two children who had stayed back in London. Ali originally belonged to Kharunagar area in the city.
The seizure from Ali's possession included Jehadi material-like CDs on Godhra incident and alleged atrocities of defence personnel in Jammu and Kashmir. The printed material had details about Saddam Hussain and Osama bin Laden.
His laptop opened on a 'sound-based passed word' and police were examining it, the official said.
However, whether he was connected with the recent Jaipur blasts was yet to be ascertained, police said. A case had been registered.
