Silver, Gold opens low on bullish advice

Mumbai, May 14: Prices of silver and gold opened low today as silver declined by Rs 225 per kg and gold by Rs 55 per ten gm in the opening session, amid low buying support by industrial users, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.

In international market, gold slightly changed on strong Dollar as gold was at USD 866.55/867.55 an ounce from USD 866.55/867.95 yesterday in New York.

Silver recorded at USD 16.70/16.76 an ounce, up slightly from USD 16.66/16.72 in New York, Tokyo market report said.

Following were the opening rates of spot silver and gold in the bullion market here today: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 23,565 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 11,900 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 11,960.
