RGIA handles one million passengers in first 50 days
Hyderabad, May 14 (UNI) The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has achieved a milestone of handling one million passengers in the first 50 days of its commerical operations, since March 23.
There had been an increase in the air traffic movement and also the number of passengers by over 14 per cent, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year at the Begumpet airport, according to a release here today.
RGIA handled an average 248 flights, including 220 domestic and 28 international flights a day in the first 50 days of its operations as compared to the Begumpet airport in the corresponding period last year, which handled 218 flights, including 190 domestic and 28 international flights.
The operations at RGIA had stabilized in all the areas like safety, security and passenger service. The airline were able to get wide body aircrafts and getting better payloads both in terms of passengers and cargo, the release added.
