Only Congress can achieve Telangana: Minister
Hyderabad, May 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Energy and Coal Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir today said only the Congress could achieve separate Telangana and develop the region by initiating several developmental activities.
Addressing party functionaries at the Rededication Day celebrations here, he alleged that Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao, was misleading the Telangana people on the pretext of sentiment.
Stating that Telangana was not the 'jagir' of Mr Rao, Mr Shabbir, who belongs to the Telangana region, said everyone in the State had right on the region. Separate Telangana could be achieved only by the Congress, he added.
The minister said when the Congress during its election manifesto promised to provide free power supply to the farm sector, Telugu Desam Party(TDP) (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu criticised the promise stating that it was impossible to provide it, as the electrical wires were only used for drying clothes.
The Same Shabbir dared Mr Naidu to touch electrical wires between Srikakulam District to Adilabad District to test whether current was passing in them. The Government was providing free power supply to 27 lakh pumpsets for seven hours during the last four years in the State, he added.
