Puri, May 14: A museum and a prayer hall in memory of Atibadi Jagannath Dash, the first Oriya scholar to write ''Bhagabat'', a sacred religious book of the Hindus in the local dialect, will be established soon.
The memorial committee of Atibadi Jagannath Dash has also decided to publish his literary works found recently from a mutt.
A few days back scholars had chanced upon 64 palm leaf manuscripts of Atibadi stashed in the shelves of Satalahari mutt located along the Puri beach where Atibadi was staying.
The committee, headed by District Collector R R Pattnaik, said the manuscripts were in excellent condition and the committee had resolved to publish the works.
A number of religious scholars would be roped in to enlighten the visiting research scholars, the DC said.
Srimanta Sahoo, a scholar conducting research on the works of Atibadi, has translated the Oriya Bhagbat of Atibadi into Hindi which would published soon, Mr Pattnaik said.
