Modi cabinet condemns attack in Jaipur

Gandhinagar, May 14 (UNI) The Gujarat government today strongly condemned the acts of terrorism and condoled the death of victims of the Jaipur serial blasts.

The State cabinet, which met here, presided over by Chief Minister Narendra Modi, passed a resolution to condemn the serial blasts in Jaipur, which claimed 65 lives.

In an official communique released after the cabinet meet, state government spokespersons, Health Minister Jai Narayan Vyas and Minister of State for Finance and Energy Saurabh Patel said the terrorist attack in Jaipur is a dastardly act, which has claimed the lives of innocent citizens.

People of Gujarat and the state government have their sympathy and solidarity with the people of Rajasthan, they said.

The Gujarat cabinet supports public demand that the Central government should show a political will to ensure the unity and integrity of the nation and take stern action to root out terrorism, they stated.

Mr Modi has also urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to call an emergency meeting of all State Chief Ministers to discuss the threat posed by these attacks to the security of the nation.

The Cabinet also observed a two minutes silence in memory of the victims.
