Lokayukta arrests FDA on bribery charges

Bangalore, May 14 (UNI) Lokayukta sleuths arrested a First Division Assistant(FDA) of Hiriyur Taluk on corruption charges for showing official favour.

A Lokayukta press release said here today that Kanathamma FDA had demanded Rs 40,000 from Mallachar to put up his Imam land dispute file before the District Commissioner Court.

The accused was arrested by the police in a trap laid on May 12, while accepting the bribe money, but sensing some doubt she handed over the money to her brother Annappa and asked him to escape.

They were, however, arrested with the bribe amount, release added.
