Kenilworth with first bartending school in eastern India

Kolkata, May 14 (UNI) To tap the potential of the booming hospitality sector in the country, the Kenilworth Group of Hotels has tied up with the University College of Gastronomy, Stockholm, to establish the first Bar Management Academy in eastern India.

Addressing a press conference here today, Kenilworth Group Managing Director Raju Bharat said, ''Our mission is to create bartenders, whose expertise and profile will match the requirements across the world, whether it be hotels, clubs, pubs, bars, lounges or luxury cruises.'' He informed that the UCG is a private institution, offering commissioned post-secondary education, and funded entirely by the Swedish national authority for qualified vocational training.

The faculty and consultants from the university will train the faculty here, who in turn will be training the students.

Students will have to undergo a three-month course, after which they will be awarded a certificate from the University of Stockholm.
