Haryana notifies permitted Bt Cotton varieties

Chandigarh, May 14 (UNI) The Haryana government has notified the varieties of Bt Cotton seeds for which the permission to sow has been granted during the current Kharif season.

A spokesman for the agriculture department said the farmers were advised to sow only the certified seeds and the seeds packets of Bt-1 and Bt-II should not be purchased for more than Rs 750 and Rs 925 respectively.

Even these prices could also be bargained as the profit of the shopkeepers was included in the price, he added.
