Govt to constitute 'Pamba River Basin Authority'
Thiruvananthapuram, May 14 (UNI) The Kerala Government today decided to constitute an authority for the smooth implementation of the Pamba Action Plan.
Briefing newspersons after a State Cabinet Meeting here, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said the government would soon recommend to the Governor for the promulgation of the Pamba River Basin Authority.
According to sources, the Rs 18.45 crore plan, sanctioned by the Centre under the National River Conservation Plan, would be implemented jointly by the State and the Central Governments.
The Chief Minister said the tenure of the Law Reforms Commission had been extended by another six months.
He said the second anniversary of the Left Democratic Front Government would be celebrated in a big way.
