German auto giant BMW enters Gujarat
Ahmedabad, May 14 (UNI) BMW India, a subsidiary of German Auto giant BMW, today announced its entry into Gujarat with appointment of Parsoli Motors as its dealers in the city.
Parsoli Motors have set up 6,000 sq feet showroom near Thaltej Circle on Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway with a fully equipped workshop for sales and services for world renowned BMW luxury cars.
Speaking to mediapersons on the occasion, Mr Peter Kronschnabi, President of BMW India, said ''Our partnership with Parsoli Motors is reflective of BMW's endeavour to reach out to its consumers and provide high quality services that are at par with international standards.'' Mr Kronschnabi said ''This is our 11th dealership in India and we are confident that this new partnership with Parsoli Motors is very important as Ahmedabad is one of vibrant cities and it will fuel BMW's growth plans in India.'' He said ''in last year's sales figures of BMW, we have set a sale target of 2,000 cars in India this year. Last year, 1387 BMW were sold against the target of 1,000, he added.
The BMW cars will roll out from company's production plant located in Chennai, which has strength to assemble 3,000 BMW per annum. ''However, at present we have no plan to export BMW from Chennai plant as first we want to fully exploit the Indian market'', Mr Kronschnabi said.
Mr Zafar Sareshwala, Director of Parsoli Motor, said ''We are fully committed to this partnership with BMW India and look forward to a fulfilling relationship.'' ''We are expecting to sell 65-70 BMW cars in Gujarat this year,'' he added.
