APCC serves show cause notice to MLAs
Itanagar, May 14 (UNI) The Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) for the May 26 Panchayat Polls, has served show cause notice to three MLAs for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities.
The DAC has asked the MLAs to reply within three days of the receipt of the notice, according to party sources here today.
The MLAs include Nani Rebia from Hapoli constituency in Lower Subansiri district, Lokam Tassar from Koloriang constituency under Kurung Kumey district and Nido Pavitra from Raga constituency under Upper Subansiri district.
All the MLAs are Independent and associate members of the Congress and have been accused of campaigning against the party candidates.
The sources further informed that in a notice, DAC chairman Talo Mugli stated that objection were raised from various quarters on anti-party activities of the three MLAs. They were directed to reply immediately as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against them, in the process, removing them from the Congress Legislature Party (CLP).
Meanwhile, the APCC has constituted a 28-member election campaign committee for Arunachal East Parliamentary committee under the chairmanship of Health and Family Welfare Minister C C Singpho, sources added.
