10 kg heroin seized in Amritsar city

Amritsar, May 14 (UNI) The Special Narcotics Cell of the Punjab Police seized 10 kg heroin outside the general bus stand here last night, police sources today stated.

According the sources, two persons were taken into custody after the heroin packets were recovered from the bags they were carrying.

The two, who were later arrested under the NDPS Act were identified as Puran Singh and Mohinder Singh of Ferozpur district.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the drug had been smuggled from Pakistan through the Ferozpur sector and was to be transported to Delhi UNI XC-HS BP1251
