TRS Bandh partial in Warangal district
Warangal, May 13 (UNI) The districtwide bandh called by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) in protest against the murder of its activist in Koppula village in Shayampet constituency on May 11 allegedly by Congress workers, was partial and peaceful today.
No untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the district, police said.
While vehicles, including buses plied as usual, shops and business establishments downed shutters.
Over 50 TRS activists were taken into preventive custody, police said.
Blaming the Congress, TRS General Secretary Madhusudhanchary alleged that the ruling party was trying to import the Rayalaseema factionalism into the peaceful Telangana region to vitiate the May 29 byelections.
