Tripura Congress complains against state govt

Agartala, May 13 (UNI) The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has accused the state government of improper utilisation of Central funds and massive corruption, while asking North East Council (NEC) Chairman and DoNER Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar to examine the issue.

A party delegation, led by former TPCC president Birajit Sinha, welcomed Mr Aiyar at Agartala airport yesterday, and requested him to take a detailed account of the expenditure of the Central funds released to the state by different Ministries.

Mr Sinha alleged that the state government had failed to utilise the sanctioned funds properly and the money was misused by the CPI(M) members.

''We apprised the Minister of the activities of the state government and large scale corruption while spending the Central funds and he assured to look into the matter,'' Mr Sinha added.
