Record pass percentage in Kerala SSLC exam
Thiruvananthapuram, May 13 (UNI) A record pass percentage of 92.09 per cent was registered in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination in Kerala, results of which were announced here today.
Announcing the results, Kerala Education Minister M A Baby said out of 451,464 candidates who had appeared for the examination, 415,744 were eligible for higher studies, recording a 9.8 per cent increase from the previous year.
A total of 6,480 students had secured 'A Plus,' which was 51.79 per cent more than the previous year, he added.
The examination was conducted in 2,723 centres, including Gulf countries and Lakshadweep. Twenty five schools had succeeded in achieving cent per cent results as against five schools in the previous year, he said.
Kannur District recorded the highest pass percentage of 96.4 follwed by Palakkad, which recorded 85.6 per cent.
It was because of the efforts taken by the Education Department that the pass percentage had increased and there was no anomalies in this regard, he claimed.
