Prasar Bharati employees eligible for General Pool accomodation

New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) Employees of erstwhile AIR and Doordarshan, who are on deemed deputation to Prasar Bharati, will continue to be eligible for allotment of General Pool accommodation beyond November 2007 on the same basis as government servants, Urban Development Ministryh statement today said.

While the freeze on the number of houses to be allotted to Prasar Bharati will be removed, it has further been decided that there would not be separate pool for these employees.

The Ministry statement said the Prasar Bharati Pool created in August 2005 stands abolished and allotments to the Prasar Bharati employees would be made from the General Pool on maturity of their turn in the waiting list and subject to fulfillment of other usual conditions.

The question of continued eligibility for allotment of General Pool residential accommodation to the employees of erstwhile AIR and Doordarshan, beyond November 21, 2007, was under consideration of the Government, it said.
