Passengers thrown out of running bus

Sambalpur, May 13 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a bus conductor of a private bus pushed two passengers out of a running bus following an altercation resulting in their death on the spot today.

According to police, a quarrel erupted over the bus fare involving only a mere Rs two between the conductor of a private transport company bus and the two passengers.

Following the quarrel, the conductor pushed the two passengers out of the running bus on State Highway number 10 near Talpatia under Jharsuguda district nearly 60 km from here.

The irate passengers and the nearby villagers set the bus on fire following the incident and blocked SH 10 for hours together.

Preliminary reports said the deceased were workers of local brick kiln and returning to Sundargarh, their home when the incident occurred.

But the victims had not yet been identified.

The irate mob demanded adequate compensation to the kins of the deceased and exemplary punishment to the bus staff.
