Official to be suspended for SSLC result leakage: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, May 13 (UNI) Kerala Education Minister M A Baby today said the government has decided to suspend an official in the Pareekshabhavan, who allegedly leaked the SSLC results hours before they were officially announced.

Talking to mediapersons here, while announcing the results, he said preliminary investigation by the vigilance wing of the Education Department found Shine Raj, in-charge of the Computer Cell, behind the leak.

The official copied the results of three districts and handed it over to his relatives, who had later sold it.

Stating leaking examination result was a criminal offence and the Home Department would inquire into this issue in detail, he said it would also examine whether there was any conspiracy.

Earlier in the day, a 23-year-old youth, identified as Vipin of Karunagapilly, was arrested by the police in connection with leaking the SSLC results.

He confessed he got the results from the Pareekshabhavan through one of his relatives working there.

According to police, he had provided results and accepted money from the candidates.

Besides, he had also supplied the results to some parallel institutions and schools in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha Districts.
