Mock exercise on ''aircraft emergency'' at NSCBI airport
Kolkata, May 13 (UNI) A mock exercise on ''aircraft emergency'' was carried out at the NSCBI airport this afternoon.
The exercise lasted for one hour involving personnel of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the fire brigade, ambulance, the CISF, representatives of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and different airlines.
A Kingfisher aircraft was parked at bay no 14 from which 'passengers were rescued'' in a simulated crashlanding of an aircraft.
'' The exercise was later reviewed at a meeting of all the agencies involved in it,'' Mr V K Monga, Airport Director, Eastern Region, (AAI) said.
