Mayawati wants to physically eliminate me: Amar Singh
Bangalore, May 13 (UNI) The feud between Samajawadi Party (SP)Leader and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati came to the fore once again with SP General Secretary Amar Singh today accusing the former of trying to eliminate him physically.
Speaking to reporters here, he claimed Ms Mayawati's henchmen had entered his Kolkata residence in the guise of IT sleuths this morning ''to eliminate him.'' He said the so called taxmen had started questioning the neighbours about his whereabouts. ''She wants to eliminate me and Mr Mulayam Singh,'' he charged.
He said he had contacted the Union Home Secretary, Director of IB and other Enforcement Department officials who denied any attempt to raid his residence in Kolkata.
Expressing apprehension he was facing serious threat to his life, Mr Singh asked why the UP Government withdrew the security provided with earlier.
''I have been under constant watch by the UP Government,'' he alleged.
Ms Mayawati was 'hell bent' on not only 'fixing' the SP leaders but also Party Sympathiser and Cine Actor Amitabh Bachchan, he alleged.
Describing today's alleged attempt to 'murder him,' he said, ''the UP Government's gift to me for the BSP having completed one year in office is this.
''If the intruders are not belonging to any other enforcing agencies, who are they?'' he asked.
Replying to questions, Mr Singh said he would take up the matter with both the Union and West Bengal Governments ''to unravel the truth.'' Mr Singh, who become more emotional on narrating the incident, said, ''I have little children and do not want to be killed. But the UP Chief Minister has taken an oath to eliminate both me and also Mr Mulyam Singh,''he alleged.
