Kolar experiences mild quake
Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka, May 13 (UNI) A mild earthquake of 2.5 magnitude was experienced here today leading to panic among the public.
However no damage to property or human life reported, according to police.
Confirming the incident, Dr Srinivasan, Senior Scientist of National Institute of Rock Mechanics and in-Charge of Seismology, told UNI that the incident may be due to rock bursting which was common in the mine area.
However, it could be ascertained only after studying the report thoroughly, he said.
As many as four similar incidents were expreienced, forcing the people to come out of their houses.
