Jammu, May 13 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation today booked a Patwari and village Chowakidar for fleecing money from 32 villagers in lieu of conferring ownership rights to them for the land under Roshni scheme, an official spokesman here said.
Patwari Balwant Raj Kotwal, Halqa Kanachak on the city outskirts and Major Ram, Chowkidar of village Lalyal, Jammu were booked under Prevention of Corruption Act for demanding and accepting illegal gratification from the local villagers.
''The duo used to make entries in the revenue records regarding conferring of ownership of state land in favour of the villagers under Roshini scheme,'' official spokesman told UNI.
