India ready to help quake-hit China: PM
New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and damage to property caused by the earthquake in China and offered India's help.
In a letter to his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao, Dr Singh said the people of India shared the grief of their brethren in China and expressed the confidence that the resilient people of China would overcome the situation.
According to a statement issued by Dr Sanjaya Baru, Media Advisor to the PM, Dr Singh said, ''India stands ready to offer any assistance that may be needed at this difficult time.'' UNI SN MIR HT1727 --
