Gogoi leaves on weeklong trip to China

Guwahati, May 13 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today left on a seven-day official visit to China.

The tour would begin tomorrow under an exchange programme of the Government of India with the International Department of Communist Party of China.

During his stay Mr Gogoi will visit several areas of interests like progressive farming and agricultural sector, tourism, vocational training institutions, bamboo cultivation and bamboo based industries, micro-hydel projects, an eco city and SEZ in Sanghai. Mr. Gogoi will visit Xi'er He Hydel Power Plant and exchange views with Indian students studying in Dali University in Kunming province.

The chief minster will also visit the Yunnan Academy of Social Science, Dounan Floriculture Centre, Bamboo Producers Association, Zhu jia jiao water village in Beijing, Sanghai and Yunnan province.

Mr Gogoi will also hold a series of meetings with leaders of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, Ambassador, Ministers, International Liaison Department officers and Central Committee Members of the Communist Party of China.

He will be accompanied by a group of senior officials.
