Enact stringent ''anti-terror'' laws in J

Jammu, May 13 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bhartiya Janata Party today said strict ''anti-terror'' laws should be implemented in the state to eradicate the menace which has taken thousands of lives for last 20 years.

In a press statement issued here, BJP's Jammu and Kashmir vice-president and spokesman Prof Hari Om stressed upon Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to enact stringent ''anti-terror'' laws in the state.

''The Congress has always supported former Chief Minister and PDP patron Mufti Mohammed Syeed for his destructive ideas regarding the State,'' Prof Hari Om alleged and said, ''It makes no sense to support the pernicious ideas of the PDP as dual currency, dual power sharing arrangement between India and Pakistan, self-rule, demilitarisation, joint management.'' ''Positive reaction to the call for Jammu bandh yesterday, is a signal that the people of Jammu province are fed up of the scourge of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,'' the BJP vice-president added.
