Kerala's revered godman in police custody

{image-santhosh madhvan_13052008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Kochi, May 13: Self-styled godman Amritachaithnaya alias Santhsoh Madhavan was today taken into custody by police in connection with an alleged financial fraud case in UAE.

Sources said the 'swami' is being interrogated by Central Zone Inspector General Vinson M Paul and Kochi City Police Commissioner Manoj Abraham. Two cases-- cheating case under sec 420 of IPC and another one under Wildlife Protection Act for possession of tiger skin-- were registered against the 'swami' on Sunday. The cheating case was registered as per the complaint by Dubai-based Keralite woman Sarafin Edwin, filed through e-mail and fax, that the swami had cheated Rs 40 lakh from her. The controversial swami had yesterday filed an anticipatory bail application in the Kerala High Court.
