Congress will lose current status: Arun Jaitley

Hubli, May 13 (UNI) BJP General Secretary and party in-charge of Karnataka Assembly elections Arun Jaitley today claimed that in the current Assembly elections, the Congress would not get even the number of seats it had got in the 2004 elections.

Inaugurating the party's Karnataka Central Election Office here, he said the Congress was issueless, directionless and leaderless.

He said increase of price rise to the tune of 150 per cent of essential commodities would cost the Congress this time and it would not even get 65 seats in the election.

He claimed that the BJP was the front runner for achieving the absolute majority.

''The next Loka Sabha elections is just ten months away,'' he said, adding that the party workers should work hard for the success of the party nominees.

Expressing hope that the party would fare much better in the second and third phase of elections, he claimed that the election results would be an eye opener for everybody and would bring a new change in the national politics.
