CM announces Interim relief

Puducherry, May 13 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today announced an interim relief of Rs 600 to workers of the cooperative spinning mills at Thirubhuvanai near here.

The workers of the mill were demanding a hike in wages for the past 28 months and had resorted to a strike eight days back.

Following this, the Chief Minister invited them for discussions, after which he announced the relief.

Subsequently, the workers called off their agitation.
