BJP questions Maya about assets worth crores

Lucknow, May 13 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party, on the first anniversary of the Mayawati government, today questioned the Chief Minister's source of income through which she has acccumulated crores of rupees.

State BJP president Rampati Ram Tripathi at a press conference here today also questioned about the law and order situation and other issues on the completion of Ms Mayawati's one year in the office.

In his 12-point charter of question, he asked why the kidnapping industry, which was flourishing only in Etawah and Mainpuri during former UP chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav's regime, had spread to the entire state in the past one year.

''Why is the government mum on terrorism and is it an appeasement move,'' asked Mr Tripathi further questioning why the government had honoured an editor Rajiv Ratan, who had written anti-Hindu book.

The BJP also questioned about the Ganga Expressway deal, agriculture growth, corruption in BPL card and job cards of NREGA.

The party demanded to know the reason behind large scale transfers and suspension of officials besides, the investment it received in the last one year.
