AP Bar Council Member hurt in acid attack

Vijayawada, May 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State Bar Council Member V Srinivasa Reddy sustained injuries on his face after an unidentified person threw acid at him in his office located at M J Naidu Hospital, here this afternoon Police said the person knocked the door when Mr Reddy was having lunch in his office.

After he opened the door, the person suddenly threw acid at his face and tried to flee from the place.

Hearing him scream, locals and some junior advocates caught the culprit and handed him to over to police.

Mr Reddy sustained injuries to his eye and face. He was admitted to a private hospital where his condition was reported to be stable.

The accused would be produced before a local court after interrogation to ascertain the motive behind the attack, police added.

Mr Reddy was elected as a member of the bar council for the second time this year.
