Actor Navin, his brother acquitted in abetting suicide case
Mumbai, May 13 (UNI) A local court here today acquitted Bollywood actor Navin Nischol and his brother Pravin on charges of abetting suicide of the former's wife Geetanjali in April last year.
While pronouncing the order, Additional Session Court Judge B B Kamkhedkar said due to lack of evidence and failure to prove the charges levelied against the accused, the duo was let off.
They were booked under sections -- 498 (a) (cruelty) and 306 (abetting) of suicide -- of Indian Penal Code by the police.
Geetanjali was found hanging at the couple's Mahim residence on April 22, and in a suicide note held Navin and Pravin responsible for her extreme act.
