2 injured in Siliguri blast

Siliguri, May 13 (UNI) Two persons were injured when a crude bomb exploded today at the Siliguri Corporation area under Bhaktinagar police station in this district.

Police said the bomb, concealed in a bicycle parked near a blacksmith's shop, exploded, injuring two persons.

The injured were rushed to the Siliguri Hospital where the condition of one was stated to be critical. He was later referred to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.

Police said no one had been arrested so far. An investigation was on.

In a similar incident yesterday one person was killed and two were injured seriously when a bicycle bomb exploded near the Shantiban NVI checkpost at the Assam-Bengal border in the Barobisha area of Alipurduar subdivision of Jalpaiguri district.
