3 rebels killed in gun battle with Army

Samba, May 12, 2008 : Indian security forces gunned down three rebels who were holed up inside a house at Samba in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, May 11.

Officials said militants forced their way into the house of a political activist in a village in Samba district, about 400 km south of Srinagar, Kashmir's main city, and killed the man and his wife. The militants then moved on to another house, where they were surrounded by Indian soldiers.
