Student stabbed to death in running train

Hardwar, May 12 (UNI) A 22-year-old BCA student from Roorkee was stabbed to death in the Delhi-Rishikesh passenger train coming from Dehradun, nearly one km from Roorkee, at about 0730 hrs today.

Station officer of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Laksar Junction, Vijay Chand Gusain told UNI that a group of youth returning from Dehradun, after appearing in the Police Recruitment Test, clashed with a group of students from Roorkee in the train.

In the clash, Amit, the BCA student was stabbed to death.

The GRP, Laksar Junction, sources said Satyaveer, a resident of village Mandawali of Agra district, Avinash, a resident of village Mitli of Baghpat district and Prashant Malik of Muzaffarnagar district have been arrested in the case and an FIR has been registered against them.

The irate villagers and relatives of the victim jammed the Dehradun-Delhi National Highway for sometime the road was cleared only after the intervention of police officials of the district.
