Select non-ferrous metals rise
Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) Select metals rose today in non-ferrous metal category, amid renewed buying support by stockists from Kolkata, Delhi, Indore and other centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In non-ferrous metal category, copper wire bars, zinc slab and tin slab, were on a rise.
Copper wire bars and zinc slab shot up by Rs 100 per quintal each and tin slab also moved up by Rs 15 per kg, on increase of fresh demand.
Lead ingot and nickel cathode went down by Rs 100 per quintal and Rs 10 per kg respectively, on sustained heavy selling pressure by stockists.
Aluminium ingot remained steady on moderate demand by stockists.
In ferrous metal category, all prices of metals were unchanged on scattered buying by stockists, traders said.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 36,600, copper utensils - Rs 33,000, brass utensils - Rs 25,200, brass cuttings - Rs 26,300 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,100.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 40,000, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,300, zinc slab - Rs 11,400, lead ingots - Rs 12,600, tin slab - Rs 1,085 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,325 per kg.
