Opposition issueless in bypoll: Hooda
Hisar, May 12 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today claimed that the opposition parties had no plank on which they could seek votes in the byelection to three assembly constituencies in the state.
The Chief Minister, who was interacting with mediapersons at Panihar Chakk village in Adampur assembly constituency, also expressed confidence that the Congress would win with the three constituencies of Adampur, Gohana and Indri with a massive mandate.
He said the voters would cast their votes on the issues of electricity, water and inflation and they were satisfied with the steps being taken by the government to ensure adequate supply of water and electricity and measures being taken to check inflation.
In reply to a question, he made it clear that there was no difference of opinion between the leaders and office bearers of the Haryana Congress. ''Today, the Congress is united and all its workers are trying to ensure the victory of party candidates.'' Earlier, while addressing a public meeting at Muklan village, the Chief Minister assured the people of an all-around development and said the government believed in ensuring development at an accelerated pace without any discrimination.
He also addressed public meetings at a number of villages such as Gorchhi, Bhiwani Rohilla, Rawalwas Khurd, Shahpur, Neolikalan, Jakhod Khera, Bagla, Mohabatpur, Ghursal, Bandaheri and Dobi and urged the people to elect Congress nominee Ranjit Singh from Adampur assembly constituency.
Chief Minister's political advisor Virender Singh, who also addressed these public meetings, said this byelection was being held because former chief minister Bhajan Lal had quit the Congress and his younger son Kuldeep Bishnoi had formed a new party named Haryana Janhit Congress (BL).
Meanwhile, more than two dozen office bearers of the Haryana Janhit Congress (BL) led by Vice President of District unit of party Ajay Jakhar joined the Congress in the presence of Hisar MP Jai Parkash at Neoli Khurd village in Hisar district.
