Implementation of Forest Right Act as per rules: Karat
Nashik, May 12 (UNI) CPM politbureau member and MP Brinda Karat today expressed her satisfaction over the implementation of the Forest Right Act (FRA) programme in the district.
''The implementation of Forest Right Act is according to the rules and the process is going on well,'' Ms Karat said in an interaction with reporters here.
She was here to make a survey of the implementation of the Employment Gurantee Scheme (EGS) act and FRA in the district. She visited 80-90 villages in Kalwan and Dindori talukas of the district and also held public hearings.
The CPM leader said she would meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and discuss with him various problems regarding EGS and FRA, besides different problems faced by gram sevaks.
She also rued about absence of foodgrain stocks in fair price shops despite several complaints by the villagers.
