Four, including body-baring woman protester, booked by police

Yamunanagar, May 12 (UNI) Police was pushed into action following the much-publicised protest by an alleged rape-victim who ripped off her clothes yesterday to seek justice and has nabbed the couple accused by her.

In addition, police has also booked her for ''indecent'' act while her companion Bittu, with whom she and the accused woman, Sonia, used to live, has been booked for threatening Sonia who had left him, the Superintendent of Police Dr C S Rao told mediapersons here today following the high drama created by the woman in front of a police station under full media glare.

The victim had accused police of inaction regarding her complaint against Sonia, who she alleged had invited her to her house where ''unidentified'' people gang-raped her on May 7.

The SP said that Sonia and her husband, have been arrested and remanded into police custody for a day, while hunt was on for others.

In addition, the inquiry into the incident has been transferred to DSP (Detective) Rajendra Yadav, who has been asked to file his report within a week.

However, police has also booked the ''victim'' woman for attempt to suicide and indecent behaviour in public under sections 309 and 294 of the IPC.

Bittu has been booked by police under sections 452, 323, 506 on the complaint of Sonia, who accused him of issuing life threats to her after she left him to re-unite with her husband.
