3 business rivals among 5 arrested for cable operator's murder
New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) Police today claimed to have solved the May 7 killing of a cable operator in Madangir area of South Delhi with the arrest of five people, including three of his business rivals.
While two of the killers - Ashraf and Mohammad Qamar -- were arrested yesterday following a tip-off, the three other accused -- rivals of the deceased in the cable business -- were arrested following interrogation of the killers, according to the police.
The three rivals -- Manish, Raju and Prakash -- had hired the killers to kill Ved Prakash alias Raju alias Mota, for a sum of Rs one lakh.
The plan had been hatched in August last year and Rs 80,000 were paid as advance, including Rs 70,000 on the day of murder - on May 7.
While six cases of murder, dacoity, robbery and Arms Act are pending against Ashraf, five cases are lodged against Mohammad Qamar.
Ved Prakash was killed on May 7 near his Madangir residence under Ambedkar Nagar police station.
