2 arrested, explosives seized

Hyderabad, May 12: Two people hailing from Orissa were arrested and huge explosives seized from their possession at Kothagudem in Khammam district, 200 km from here today.

Talking to mediapersons, Khammam Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prakash said acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted a car, which was proceeding from Gumpalagudem in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh to Malkangiri district in Orissa.

He said more than 800 gelatin sticks and 1,500 detonators were seized from the car's. The car occupants--Dilip Sarkar and Sandeep Sarker-- were arrested along with driver Chanti.

They were being interrogated, he added.
