Srinagar, May 11 (UNI) Urging the Centre to provide liberal financial, employment and political package to Jammu and Kashmir, a senior People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Minister in the coalition Mohammad Dilawar Mir demanded gradual reduction of security forces in the Valley and opening of borders with Pakistan.
''There was an urgent need to liberate people from economic distress'', Mr Mir said, adding that the Union government should address the concerns of the people of the state regarding economic and employment needs.
Calling for generating confidence among the people , he said the Centre should provide a liberal financial, employment and political package.
The minster also demanded for gradual reduction of security forces and opening of border for trade, tourism, cultural and educational exchanges as Confidence Building Measures(CBMs).
He said that parties at the helm should jointly strive amicably for nurturing peace and resolving of all issues pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Mir called for comprehensive efforts for fast track peace and dialogue process between India and Pakistan.
