Militants kill couple in Samba, encounter going on

Jammu, May 11, (UNI) At least two civilians were killed by militants in a village near the International Border while security forces have cordoned them at Kaili Mandi in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir early today, sources said.

''A serious gun battle is going on between militants and security forces since wee hours,'' sources said.

A couple including a local leader Hoshiar Singh and his wife were killed in their house at Rakhbatal in Samba, near border following which security forces launched search operations.

''Two to four militants wearing army's combat dress were engaged in an encounter with security forces at Kaili Mandi,'' sources added.

Army troops have also rushed to the spot.
