FB congratulates people for a peaceful Panchayat election
Kolkata, May 11 (UNI) All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) state secretary Ashok Ghosh today hailed the people for a peaceful three-tier Panchayat election in West Bengal.
In a statement here, Mr Ghosh said, '' I congratulate the democracy-loving people for upholding the tradition of conducting peaceful election in the state. '' Mr Ghosh stated that an estimated 57 to 60 per cent polling had been recorded till 1700 hrs in the five districts of East and West Midnapore, Bankura, Burdwan and Purulia.
Altogether 13,687 Gram Panchayats, 3029 Panchayat Samities and 26o Zilla Parishads went to polls.
