About 70,000 hectares land brought under agriculture sector
Srinagar, May 11 (UNI) An amount of Rs 407.83 lakh have been kept for agriculture and allied sectors in the 2008-09 annual plan for Pulwama, where about 70,000 hectares land was brought under agriculture sector.
An official spokesman said Rs 407.83 lakh have been kept under agriculture and allied services in the annual plan for the district where Rs 150.63 lakh were utilised for the same sector last year.
He said 37,100 hectares and 32,025 hectares of land was brought under kharief and rabi crops respectively in the district.
Besides, 853 quintals of seed, 15700 quintals of fertilizers were also distributed in the district, he said, adding that 2600 hectares were brought under saffron cultivation.
